multicultural canada : yay :) a Sincere vision for Canada; Canadian Culture...( and the World)

In the project entitled 'Journey of a multicultural nation', the audience is taken on an inspirational journey that leaves them with a feeling of appreciation for life on many different levels. The heart of the documentary is based on remembering the journey of how canada became a multicultural nation, in which many of us share a common story of ancestors who were in pursuit of new beginnings, freedom and opportunity. Arriving in these lands, and having built a nation among beautiful natural landscape, we are now at a point where the heritage and culture of aboriginal people is an important legacy to be remembered, understood and appreciated as the essence of not only Canada, but among the world.

In the project entitled 'Cultures of the world, united', the audience is taken on an inspirational journey that leaves them with a feeling of appreciation for life on many different levels.
The heart of the documentary is a symbolic following of the torch, the spirit of the flame that is journeyed during a year of the games. In Canada, we welcome the world to a legacy of our lands, the heritage and culture of aboriginal people whose culture holds ‘reverence for plants as sacred’ while profound respect is held for living in harmony with nature, respecting elders and their community, and valuing celebrations of life through ceremonies. As we celebrate the spirit of the torch and the symbolic journey of respecting cultures from around the globe, we unite the human spirit through a world that celebrates diversity.
Synopsis
This piece is a project that has been creatively brought together through being engaged in the community, filming cultural events and speaking with people that are involved in the concepts that have been developed. I have made connections for interviews and I have many hours of b-roll footage from events that I have been continually filming since I moved to Vancouver in January 2009. I have been following the journey of the olympic spirit as we get ready to welcome the world.
There are two parts of 'script visions' I have written as well as a treatment plan for an artistic vision.
I am interested in collaborating on 1, 2 or 3 of the script visions, and the concepts can be played with to suit our timeframe, collaborative vision and budgets. To focus in on one project, I propose we focus on one of the stories, along with the treatment plan of the creative opening.
The basis of one of the scripts is that Canada is a multicultural nation, home to people from all over the world. Remembering that we share a common story through the journey of our ancestors; people from diverse cultures who pursued new beginnings, freedom and opportunity, we can live with fuller appreciation for where we are today.
As we remember the journey of our ancestors it becomes essential to respect the remembrance that these lands were thrived upon by native peoples who lived in harmony with nature. Rather than a new world, these lands were full of tribes that were rich and varied in culture; communities that thrived off the lands, using what they needed, but always giving back what they took. It is important for us, and for the world to now remember the legacies of aboriginal people. In Canada, and through out the world.
For the second story, the basis is that through an event such as the olympics, or Fifa world cup, nations among the world come together to share in an experience. This experience is based upon the fact that people of the world can unite through common cultures such as sport and the arts. With an event such as the games, the symbolic journey of the torch offers an opportunity to respect the heritage and culture of all peoples. We receive the flame from Beijing, china, and in doing so we can reflect on the inspirational aspects of Chinese culture: ‘unity’ respect for families, health of natural medicine and celebrating festivities such as the Chinese new year.
In Canada, we welcome the world to a legacy of our lands, the heritage and culture of aboriginal people. As we celebrate the spirit of the torch and the symbolic journey of respecting cultures from around the globe, we unite the human spirit through a world that celebrates diversity.
For the approach of the project of vision 2,
I would choose to focus in on one of the two previous scripts, which would be an artistic film with intriguing interviews. Part of the film would be able to use some footage that is already filmed from events that I have attended, as well as filming from locations around Vancouver. The story will be furthered through interviews with various contacts, such as a gold medalist from Beijing, Jake Weitzel, who is native to Vancouver. With this interview I would direct questions for the connection of the flame coming from Beijing, to Vancouver Canada, and what it means to for him to bring that spirit here. I would also interview myself, as I have moved out west as a creative filmmaker who wanted to find the stories that could be shared through the games. I followed my dreams and found myself on a much larger journey, exploring stories that delve into the spirit of humanity, the essence of who we are. In this, the stories I have been inspired to create, are stories that reach the world. Reflecting on the spirit of the flame, and appreciating each place that the torch passes through is a revolutionary understanding for remembering aboriginal culture from all over the world. After the games of vancouver 2010, I aim to continue this project in South Africa during the Fifa 'games'. In this I will be remembering African culture as the spirit of the flame continues. This story can be brought into this current project if we so choose.
The third concept is the written, creative treatment plan for a video with music and voice over which is a leading opening to either of the 'vision scripts'. It is an artistic visual piece that shares a journey of a girl walking on modern day streets who comes to learn the heritage of aboriginal people. The spirit of aboriginal culture is shared among whispers such as 'every landscape carries with it a story to be remembered'.
My vision is to create this treatment plan, and then create the artistic documentary for sharing the symbolic journey of 'journey of a multicultural nation/and or/'the spirit of the flame: cultures of the world, united'.
This project would be a piece that would touch the lives of all Canadians, and anyone from the world who would be able to come across the film. It is an inspirational project that offers remembrance for our heritage while also remembering the journey of all cultures that pursue new beginnings, freedom and opportunity. Coming together, now that the world is connected through travels and technology, we live among a world that celebrates cultural diversity.

-I am soon heading to meet with R Director, whom called me lastnight!! :) So nice to have a film connection formulate, and someone who is a spiritual/philosophical ...as well as knows people who have ideas/visions for indigenous filmmaking.
I sense beauty in this opportunity!!! as he speaks from having ideas ready to soon be filmed, as well as openness to collaborating ideas for projects, and when i explained a part of what i am about, 'sounds interesting'...so JL
I am ready to bring visions to actions!

Creating Our Destiny'
-I am soon heading to meet with R Director, whom called me lastnight!! :) So nice to have a film connection formulate, and someone who is a spiritual/philosophical ...as well as knows people who have ideas/visions for indigenous filmmaking.
I sense beauty in this opportunity!!! as he speaks from having ideas ready to soon be filmed, as well as openness to collaborating ideas for projects, and when i explained a part of what i am about, 'sounds interesting'...so JL
I am ready to bring visions to actions!
and we are doing it through 'entertaining artistic style' of sharing cultural appreciation/awareness of diversity,...beautifully!! we have the olympic spirit/as a whole world of market to do so
I AM SO PUMPED for these opportunities!! of whatever way we choose to go about creating our visions...
i am also so very grateful to be 'in path of love and light', with such loving connections of ABORIGINAL MUSIC STUDIES!! :):), as well as great chats/vibe at CCulture, especially davids awareness and calm ability to share with people the beauty of exploring dimensional realms of consciousness/shamanism as guides on the journey of exploring consciousness/ and that their chanting/music can effect the vibrational level of realms explored.
